alhamdulilah...a heartbeat & a kick

no words could describe my happiness....alhamdulillah....syukur sgt2 to Allah......
according to june doherty, my midwife...the ultrasound unit of st james hospital had fixed 8 jan 2009 ..10am for my 1st ultrasound scan ...which by right supposed to be last week during the 12 wks of pregnancy...as of today...i'm in my 12 weeks 6 days...or kalo ikut weeks...is 13 weeks pregnant.
when i arrived at level 4 of gledhow wing at st james hosp....the ultrasound receptionist said my appt should be at 2pm...and not 10 am...since the schedule was not packed... she could fit me in for this morning session...alhamdulillah....
after few minutes of waiting...cathryn webb, the sonographer called me in.....me alone first... she said...later on kamarul & danial can join in....
the normal routine goes on...gel on d tummy and follwed by the probe....she didnt show me the screen yet....her first remark was the bladder was not full...so might not be that clear...and so she had to press the probe harder at the lower abdoment..she then said there's a heartbeat.........cant take her words until i see it for myself... seeing believing!.... she then showed me the screen...i saw a baby shape but cannot see the heartbeat yet...
then suddenly i saw a movement...like 'kicking'....i nearly cried...it's the baby kicking...then i saw the heartbeat clicking....but cant hear any sound...she said the machine cant do that...i have to get the midwife to use the doppler in order to hear the heartbeat,....koman betul laa... kat msia clinic kenit2 pon boleh....takpelah... listening to the heartbeat is secondary...so long i can see the movement & the added bonus of the baby's kicking...alhamdulillah.....more than enough!
she then measured the baby...it is 7.23cm long from crown to rump....i then asked bout the baby's facial feature...cant really see the face but we saw the eye sockets & the mouth was wide open...menganga...hehehe..cathryn laughed too..the spinal cord looks orait... the arms & femur bone seems to look ok too...
alhamdulillah the size co-inside with the weeks of pregnancy...and according to the scan, the EDD would be 17 july 2009.
unfortunately...she didnt allow any camera or video recording....
cathryn then called kamarul & danial in.....as soon as the probe touches my lower abdoment... the baby once again kicking.....and heartbeat beating was visible.... danial didnt understand at first but then was excited...when his daddy showed it to him and said 'look...it's the baby'....danial then said 'baby'..and smile.....i pressume he understands it even though he still looks puzzled.
i really2 thank Allah so much....and also tq all for ur doa...especially the one from our family...parents in particular....
cant realy be happy 100%...as many more hours & days are yet to come.....& so i can only hope & doa to Allah for the best.....
next week is the tripple test for down syndrome...& so i hope all family & friends would continue to doa for me & the baby.....
my next scan would be on 2 march 2009 at 9am.....insyallah by that time hopefully dah dpt tau whether it's a boy or a girl.....x kisah laa...janji sihat & cukup sifat....beranak pon nnt sihat & selamat & membesar as a good muslim/muslimah....
last monday & tues (yesterday) i fasted....sempena 9 & 10 muharam....plus puasa ganti laa... alhamdulillah manage to finish the fasting even though felt so weak...vomitted twice on monday... alhamdulillah boleh tahan semlm....and so now another 2 more days to go.

hovingham primary school

a letter came to us mid dec 2008 informing that there'll be teacher or school worker from hovingham primary school will be visiting us at home on 5th jan 2009 to do some assessment prior to danial entering the nursery. and today 2 ladies came at 11.15am - sharon & mrs i-cant-recall-her name heheheh .....
sharon did some assessments on danial...to see whether he knows colours & numbers, play with toys etc....i didnt concentrate as i was talking to the other lady ..she asked me Qs about danial & us.
she told me that danial will start attending nursery this 29 Jan 2009.... and asked if i could stay for an hour just to observe him on his 1st day....definitely i wouldnt miss a chance....my little boy is going to school....hhmmm...
both of them left after 20 minutes ...offered tea & sandwich...xmo lak...coz diaorg nak rest .
called jij...danial went up the stairs & then turun facing fwd....being very silly ( i mean his behaviour...not him silly)... his teeth cut the lower lips. apa lagi...menganga laaa..... alhmd xde apa2.
ooo...b4 i forget...danial's new achievement is that he is nappy free during the day..started last week....alhmd dia nak gak laa shi shi kat toilet....started with shi shi in the the bath tub...now dia nak laa shi shi kat toilet.....brought him every 2-3 hours.... hopefully ok laa masa nak gi school nnt.
and now...danial is sleeping....even though it's only 12.30 noon........sian dia.. let him rest..

alhmd days went well yesterday.... we went to kak ina's house for nasi beryani lunch..kesian kak ina as she couldnt sleep the night b4..
prior to that i cooked soto soup for the evening tea which was held in our place sempena zu & tarik's visit to leeds..... alhmd x mun2... heheheh
they finally arrived nearly 7pm...so kira mcm dinner laaa.... i big pot of soup & nasi impit & other kawan2...heheheh...
and for today....insyallah we'll be going to ida & sham's lps asar....now waiting for KA to come back. and dinner mlm nih lak at nurul & mie's

now it's way past midnight.......the 3 of us are still wide awake.....waiting to see the lovely fireworks from our new 32" bravia.... (wanted the 55"...i said NO...syg laa duit..)
what's my 2009 resolution.....NOTHING.....as i've set one during Maal Hijrah 1430....few days ago.

the final day in 2008

today is the final day in 2008.....
my day starts with a beautiful french omelette..... of which i had to breath through my mouth when i fry the onion..so that i wont vomit...hehehe... 2 slices of toast covered with 'country life' churned butter & a sprinkle or a dash or black pepper....masyaAllah...sedap nyerrr.....*masuk lif tekan sendiri*...heheheheh....
we then head to bradford...1st destination is dhadibais.....a well-known kedai paki that sell household items. kak ina came with us...so most of the things are bought by her...
2nd destination is pakeeza....we bought their famous trademark roast chicken....lama giller nak kena tunggu...but worth waiting ...
why worth waiting? well i had that for lunch at ida & sham house with sham's nasi goreng cili api...bit spicy though but very yummilicious..... stayed there till 4pm...
next...we went to kak firdaus & abg norman house....makan beehoon grg lak...but couldnt eat much as still full from the lunch....
and now is 7pm......rice is on d stove...hhmmm..actually in d rice cooker...i'm no good with the stove...tak pasal2 hangus...hehehe....will be having yesterday's ayam percik & telur bungkus... i was fasting yesterday...and the day b4....so insyallah tinggal 4 more days to go!...padan muka pasal malas nak posa 6 masa balik msia....
few more hours to say bye2 to 2008 ....
and few more hours & days left for us to live in leeds.....
i tell u how i feel in 2009 shortly....

another 'pregnancy story'...the usual one...

i was extremely sick yesterday.....morning sickness....then i had wonderful french omeletter... made by darling hubby......bit dry thou.... ...i felt something missing...and later found out there was no cheese in it...hehehe...xpe laa the effort & love & kindness counts... tq so much darling dear...
kak ina came by....felt not well...but pity danial as i havent been cooking good food for him... x tahan bau tumis2....garlic & onion....terrible!...and so...i cooked sardin...(pilchard in tomato)... right after cooking..uuuweeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...... i had to rest on a bed....it was really2 bad...
i tried some rice & sardin.......Ya Allah...it tasted really bad.....however, kamarul enjoys it despite bit sour.
and then...the evening routine of 'evening sickness'.....unlike other ladies i dont usually have morning sickness...but more of evening sickness...and sometimes in the afternoon. xpe lah..ujian from Allah.....that's the beauty of pregnancy....
and so...lembik liak laaa badan....hardly any food or drink in the body....no metalic taste but simply nausea!
and so i slept early.....tak larat sgt2....felt so weak....

salam aidiladha from us in leeds....
since i couldnt cook....(still on the morning/evening sickness) we went to several friends' house...alhmd....mmg literally tak msk anything for raya....i just couldnt!
kamarul went for solat raya...both myself & danial didnt go ...kamarul says that it's better for me to stay at home ...more on danial's safety...just in case he wanders around while i was praying....& ilang...mana lak nak carik.....
1st hs was kak ina's...then nurul's....after zohor & asar prayer...we then went to holborn .....maghrib at manja's....mlm dah x larat nak kelua.....
unfortunately....i ate a little.....not my usual self.....better small amount than uwekkkkkk.... hehehhehehe....

takbir malam aidiladha

both myself & kamarul were fasting today.....woke up around 5.15am....kamarul heated the food...rendang daging, fried fish, daging salai msk lemak rebung (given by ida) and sambal ikan bilis...also courtesy of ida.....from upstairs....yuckkkkkssssss....busuk sgt2 the smell...
i dont think i can eat them in the morning....esp...very2 early in d morning.....
and so...i settled for a banana & a mug of milo and another cup of plain water... and 15 minutes b4 imsak... i went up to tooootttt....heheheh...... then suddenly...uwekkkkkk.....
doa sgt2 moga boleh posa...actually posa ganti gak....
lps solat subuh.....tido x sedar diti till 10am....heheheh....
lps zohor we went to asda......3pm cooked for buka...i made ayam msk kicap...KA said jawa's style...& fried chicken with ginger....mcm nak muntah...but tahan jerrrr....alhmd...berjaya..
buka posa...3.52pm.......could eat anything......i mean rice & lauk.....so i had a cup of orange juice, satu tamar & a slice of melon......after 10 minutes......uwekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk......this time really bad.....had to rest nearly 1/2 hour...
5.30pm we left for greenroom at leeds univ for takbir malam raya.....ramai yg dtg.......
