Bonda Cafe London
|
|
BONDA CAFE..
we look at the map...seaching for sussex garden .....jalan2 and finally found it...but in dilema whether to go to the left or to the right...i decided to go on to the right...and finally at the end of the road before the roundabout i saw the word MARA...my thought were...it must be the Mara House.in sussex garden....nak amik pic laa...as i walked towards it..i saw bonda cafe.....poorly signed!...kenit ajer....
we had beautiful nasi lemak with 2 lauk..i.e. daging rendang & sambal udang....£3.50 jer....damn cheap...(compared to other shops...in london ok!)....another plate...i took ayam goreng tepung and ayam rendang...and...teh tarik...superbbbb....better than malaysian hall's nasi lemak....ustaz erfino said the owner and the one in malaysian hall are related...siblings..if i'm not mistaken...
lepas lepak for 1/2 hour...balik to the hotel....lepas solat we cow..alhamdulillah dpt late check out...at 2pm.....terus gi harrods at knightbridge.....carik donut krispe kreme....
at 3.30pm...left for st pancras train station...back to leeds on a 5.30pm train....4 1/2 hours journey.....boringgg nyerrr...alhamdulillah not many people in the train....
arrived home 9.45pm...safely....
alhamdulillah.....what a great weekend!
this entry is meant for.....nak promote bonda cafe....
forgot to mention that bonda cafe's former name is Nahar Cafeteria
camna nak gi BONDA CAFE nih...senang ajer...turun kat Paddington tube station.make sure exit yg opposite to hilton paddington Praed Street...terus pusing kiri and walk straight on till u reach the nearest traffic light cross junction...again...turn left kat traffic light tu...make sure u see Spring Street..(kalau nampak London Street...dah salah nih)..walk straight on till the end of the road or till u see Mara House. as soon as u see mara house walk till end of the road and u see big no '190' on the wall...turun laa bwh to the basement....*pls see the third pic yg ada kamarul & the stroller...u can easily see 190 on the wall behind kamarul's head*

subhanallah...snow in april...IN LONDON..
|
|
i woke up again at 7.30am after a short sleep after solat subuh....tergerak hati nak selak curtain.. subhanallah...snowwwww..... snowing in april...in london some more!
i woke darling hubby up...but failed to wake danial up...from the 4th flour in park inn hydepark hotel we witness the beautiful creation...the smooth silky flaky white snow falling down from the sky in a slow wavy movement...following the movement of the wind...
the roof top and the ground are being blanketted by the white snow.....again... subhanallah for the wonderful magnificent fantastic creation by Allah...as u can guess...many snap snap from the camera and video on the snow....
i always have this wonderful excitement when i see snow...i guess it touches the inner 'child' in me. cant wait to go outside and play and feel the cold cold breeze....
finally danial wakes up and see 'nossss'....as he would call the it...still snowing....but 15 minutes later it became sleet.
finally at 8.45am we went out to hydepark...which is just across the hotel. alhamdulillah...both danial & myself had so much fun despite the sleet and sometimes later it turn to snow again... the park is covered with snow....and so photos session began....mostly of danial....playing with snow...throwing at us....
as we walk further into the park...we saw 2 big snowman....some malaysian ...students and some who works here ..in london...danial enjoyed himself....to my suprised he realise that one of the snowman's hand was no longer intact...and so he gathered the snow ...making into snow sausage and stick it where the snowman's hand should be....such a clever little guy...
after we took photos the 3 of us...the students wants their....and danial is the star of the show...selamba je....didnt care bout the surrounding....and anything that happens around him... and next are indians students....danial too was in their pics...and the next is the paki....yuppp u got that right...danial in their pic too!
after an hour and a half...we went back to the hotel...gave danial his bath and get ready to go out....alhamdulillah the malaysian that we met earlier at hydepark told us that they were going to 'bonda cafe' near paddington tube station for nasi lemak...and so our journey continues...
as we walked to queensway tube station (which is just a stones away from bayswater tube station...same row)...we saw many people ...sepet2 and mat salleh and other colours...protesting 'free tibet'..so i guess the olympic torch running may or will pass by this road...the torch arrived on friday evening in london....rumours saying that britain might boycott the ceremony of the lighting of the torch & the running in london....gordon brown denied them as he was there to welcome it.....after spending 20-30 minutes sibuk2...hehehe...we continued our journey to paddington tube station in seach of bonda cafe for our brunch....heheh as it's already 11.45am.

London Day 2 -jejak kasih mc donald
|
|
after a tiring night we had a good sleep....unlike before myself couldnt really sleep...but this time round..i sleep like a baby.....nak bgn subuh pun mcm liat.....
the initial plan was to have nasi lemak for breakfast at malaysian hall...unfortunately due to the UKEC programme being held there, malaysian hall dining is closed for 2 days..today & tomorrow.. alhamdulillah we bought some buns at tesco express as we walked out from bayswater tube station yesterday.
finally...at 11am we left for buckingham palace to see the 'changing of the guard'...never seen one in my life....dunno when i will come back to london as kamil will be leaving NY for good....got a nice 'paying' job in malaysia....it is a 20 minutes ceremony...start at 11.30am to 12 noon.
we arrive..just in time for the ceremony....bertimbun2 manusia....so shorty me cant really see. alhamdulillah they will come out from the middle gate after the 'changing'...sharp 12 noon.. heard the loud banging from the band by...the red man with big black cylinder shape hat...they walked passing us...sempat laa snap few shots...and danial too....
right after changing of the guard at buckingham palace....we boeard the green park tube to sheperd's bush (hammersmith & city....as central line's station is closed here) . took a bus from the tube station (bus no. 607 or 207..both boleh...except for bus no. 207 kena buy the ticket b4hand...unless u got oyster card)....lama nyerrrr....journey to southall is almost 1 hour from sheperd's bush tube station. after ealing broadway, kamarul was anxious....lama sgt nih....ntah2 dah terlepas.... i said no.. the stop must say 'trinity road'....
alhamdulillah after an hour dok dlm bus....(pity kamarul as he got to stand all the way through as danial was in the stroller)... we arrived at our destination...the one and only pioneer halal mc donald in uk...situated in southall london. our arrival was greeted by rain...and the cold wind!
larik2 masuk to the mc d....and i smiled to my ears....alhamdulillah tercapai jugak hasrat kali nih..
we ordered mc chicken, chicken legend, chicken brown chili burger and 5 pieces chicken select (strips of chicken)....well..did i mention only chicken products here can be eaten....NOT beef... so cheeseburger or big mac are out of the question!
danial...as usual...makan chips jer.....lepak bout an hour when we decided to go home for solat.. again...it was raining...we were looking for bus stop where bus 607 could stop...suprised as after 2 bus stop...still no sign of it...finally we decided to go on bus no 207...alhamdulillah..... but stopped at morrison in Acton....looking for cod's roe and roti pitch.....only the latter available.
1 hour journey to sheperd's bush tube station...and another 1/2 hour back to hotel room...we didnt go anywhere after that....rehat ajer...
kamil came back after 10.30pm...
fuhhh....what a day!

woke up quite early today.....7am...heheh...to prepare for the london trip...esp danial's stuff..other than that ..not so worry....
took a bus at 9.30am and then free city bus to train station. 10.40am train national express east coast to london...2 1/2 hours later...we arrive at london king's cross station...bought mc donald happy meal for danial....4 ourselves..nope..tahan....keeping the trill alive for tomorrow's mission...
arrived at the hotel around 2.30pm...had our bekal...chicken burger made this morning and yesterday's beehoon.
around 3.30pm kamil came back after solat jumaat at malaysian hall...oh i forgot to mention that this london trip to meet kamil...even though we know that we will hardly see him due to his hectic programme...but seeing & saying hi hello is good enough....kamil's & danial eye-to-eye meeting was not as expected as before....(during the january london trip)..kamil was saying that ...danial dah selalu sgt tgk...dah jemu...hehehe.....
he bought for us teh tarik and pisang goreng from malaysian hall....
at 5.30pm left the room for malaysian hall to meet up with ustaz erfino...kamarul's senior at kolej islam klang (KIK)...just few minutes as he got to go home...his parents were here...he lives near ealing boradway in zone 3 london.
our journey then continue...the millenium bridge...out from blackfriars tube station..seems to see the nearest...one end of the bridge is st paul cathedral and the other end is tate modern... walk across to tate modern and then a longgggg walk till we arrived at the 'telur' with the london tower bridge as its backdrop....and its nearly dark...maghrib....a long long long way back to the hotel......
we arrived nearly 10.15pm....exhausted....no dinner we bought...but quick thiking...taza chicken kebab....

a sad story & a lost to a muslim world!
|
|
i was extremely shocked when i read this news in Utusan. i then later read http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=550549&in_page_id=1770 for further info and even googled her name 'shilpa lee'.
does the name sufiah yusof ring the bell?the child prodigy whose family i met when they came to UIA (2002 or 2003...i cant recall) and give a talk on how the father & mother educate their children
felt really2 sad for the thing that happened to her .... her pathetic life.how on earth something happened!
i hope puan halimaton bersabar. mudah2an Allah mudahkan segala nya. and i doa for myself, my family and my keturunan dijauhkan dari semua ni.
aminnnnn....
ON THE OTHER HAND...i do hope sufiah's naked pics are taken out from the website...it might be 'free advertisement' for her...but please respect the family's intergrity!

day light saving time UK
|
|
Daylight saving time (DST; also summer time in British English; see Terminology) is the convention of advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn. Modern DST was first proposed in 1907 by William Willett. Many countries have used it since then; details vary by location and change occasionally.
The practice is controversial.Adding daylight to afternoons benefits retailing, sports, and other activities that exploit sunlight after working hours, but causes problems for farming, entertainment and other occupations tied to the sun.Extra afternoon daylight reduces traffic fatalities; its effect on health and crime is less clear. Although an early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, formerly a primary use of electricity, modern heating and cooling usage patterns can cause DST to increase electricity consumption.
DST's clock shifts can serve as fire safety reminders,[8] but they complicate timekeeping and can disrupt meetings, travel, billing, recordkeeping, medical devices, and heavy equipment.[9] Many computer-based systems can adjust their clocks automatically, but this can be limited and error-prone, particularly when DST rules change

somehow...we cannot sleep properly....woke up at 3.30am....danial was feeling restless....he had pooped....so wash him up and gave him milk....oh dear....a slight fever...!
we saw outside the window.... white tiny flakes came down from the sky.... SNOW !.....alhamdulillah.....it snows again... weather forecast cant sometimes gives false impression and hope! but today...it is for real... alhamdulillah.....danial kept saying 'nosss'.. (snow)......told him that once there sky is slightly clear we'll go out to play with 'noss'
i cant close my eyes.....subuh prayer at 4.30am....
mimi was telling me that alia really wanted to see snow and they hope their visit during this easter holiday would be the first time for them to experience snow!...myself as usual love to see the ground covered with white soft icy flakes.....kamarul tried to wake them up... and finally aman woke up while alia & mimi still on the bed.....bak kata org melayu berubah tempat tidur...they cant really sleep properly......insyallah it will be better....
and so at 4.35am aman went out to experience first hand the snow shower.....and later mimi & alia as well....
afriad that it might melt ....kamarul brought them at 6.30am to roundhay park....still bit dark as no sun light yet.....at 7.30am...i called kamarul to come and pick us up as i see the snow starts to melt....even though danial is not well...he still loves the snow
